What is Mounri Warriors?
Mounri Warriors aimed to be a continuation of my abandoned game, Ruins of Mounri. It was a complete repurposing of Ruins of Mounri's code and assets. Utilizing some systems from Little World, Mounri Warriors aimed to re-create my first vision of Ruins of Mounri before I started working on a story. Consisting of 20-30 semi-random levels, it would've gone back to the roots of what I was planning in 2018.
Repurposing Lore
For Ruins of Mounri, I had a lot of Lore that I simply couldn't figure out how to fit into the game. But Mounri Warriors, was going to implement this lore into a 15-part story that will be found in scriptures scattered across the dungeons and catacombs of Mounri. Details on the ancient gods, the Cult of Adrailek, and much more are just waiting to be found!
The Eight Mounrian Deities are based around the Sun, Moon, and Stars, along with the four common Elements of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth; plus Lightning. This lore would have been worked into the mechanics with each element (that you'd unlock from spirits) upgrading certain powers.

What is Ruins of Mounri?
Starting as a Java game engine for a different game in 2018, I originally made the cyclops character that I'd later use as the protagonist in Ruins of Mounri. The project was started in Unity, but was then quickly moved over to GameMaker (GMS2). Development flourished in 2020 (thanks to the pandemic) but it became clear that there was too much bloat and feature-creep. In February of 2021, I lost all motivation and canceled the project in March of that same year. The plan was to have a fun & easy dungeon-crawler experience with a story, NPCs, and some fun weapons.
